Big harbour boat trip
Between Speicherstadt and giant container ships
Go to Tickets
A Hamburg harbour boat trip is a must-do during your visit of Hamburg! Explore the mixture of tradition and modernity between Speicherstadt and cruise ship terminal. We offer a variety of ways to get closer to the many facets of the "gate to the world".
"Right in the middle" is the motto of each barge trip: The former transport and today's excursion boats let you feel each and every wave. Because of the agility of the barges, you come close up to container ships and get a unveneered impression of the harbor. In summer, the ships sail open and in winter they are covered and heated, toilets on board are self-evident.
Or take a passenger ship: Enjoy the fresh air and the beautiful panorama of Hamburg with elevated views from the large outdoor deck! In the elegant interiors you have a great view through the panoramic windows. You also each expect a bistro and bars that provide you with food and drink. Sanitary facilities are also available here.
- Barkasse/barge: be close to the action
- Passenger ships: large outdoor decks and elegant comfortable interior incl. a nice bistro
- Daily departures approx. every 45 minutes
- Duration of the whole tour: one hour
- Live comments by our captains
- English tours daily at 12:00 and 2:00 p.m.!
- HanseCARD included: more than 30 discounts and special goodies wait for you!
All our tours are commented live by our captains and guarantee an equally witty and informative tour. Depending on tide we show you the highlights of the port: the traditional Warehouse District, the ever-growing HafenCity, the (still existing) Köhlbrandbrücke, the impressive repair docks of Blohm & Voss, the fish market from the water side, the notorious Elbphilharmonie, the container terminal and much more!
English tours daily at 12:00 p.m.!
Where do the trips start?
All tours start at the St. Pauli Landungsbrücken (S-Bahn lines S1 and S3, metro U3). All ships depart between bridge 1 and 6, accurate information is available on your ticket.
When are the departure times?
The barges and the large passenger ships are starting Monday to Friday at 10:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m. approximately every 45 minutes. On high-season dates, there may be more frequent departures.
Where is a good parking location?
The parking possibilities right at the Landungsbrücken are limited, so we recommend that you arrive by public transport. In the parking garage of the St. Michaelis church there are often found free places, the walk to the pier is within walking distance.
How can I tell the ship for my harbor tour?
You will find the detailled information including a map on your ticket.
Can I bring my dog?
Taking a dog with you is possible on all passenger ships.
Are the tickets bound to a fixed date or time?
No, your tickets can be used no matter what time or time you choose. You are completely flexible as to date and time and choose freely when to make your harbour boat tour.
Can I choose freely between barge and passenger ships?
Yes, you can choose freely between barges and passenger ships. You can decide which ship to board - your tickets are valid for both types of ships.
Should the tickets be printed?
Yes. Although you receive your tickets by e-mail immediately after booking, please print your tickets in order to give them to the staff uppon arrival. If you happen to have no printer available, simply forward the e-mail with your tickets either to your hotel reception, or to a nearby internet café.
